Care Home Governance & Compliance

It is vitally important that care services are monitored to ensure fundamental standards of quality and safety are always maintained.

AC Solutions International provides a bespoke service that is tailored to your specific requirements. This is undertaken by providing a robust auditing process which will ensure your establishment is compliant in all areas including CQC (Care Quality Commission) and the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulation 2014. We can also supply any necessary supporting documentation to compliment your existing protocols and procedures.

Good governance is the key to success as quality monitoring is a proven route for driving improvements in the service you provide.

Independent evaluation of your establishment is good practice and will assist in providing detailed and defined feedback on your existing procedures. Our service will also furnish you with an action plan with agreed timescales, which provides evidence of monitoring and improvement.

Providers are required by law to ensure they meet their legal obligations to provide good governance (Regulation 17).

Many Directors or Proprietor Providers of SMEs don’t have the time or the knowledge to ensure that they meet their legal obligations.  even though these are essential for the smooth running of your care home/s and for achieving CQC Compliance.

Our Operations Director can assist Providers to meet their statutory requirements, which gives some re-assurance but allows them the freedom to focus on their other business objectives. Our Operations Director will:

  1. Ensure good governance by establishing a “Service Improvement Plan” (SIP) which details any compliance issues that need resolution. The SIP must be reviewed periodically demonstrate:

    • A robust assurance and auditing system is in place.

    • A process of continuous evaluation which seeks continual improvement.

    • Consideration is given to both the quality and safety of their service.

    • Consideration is given to improved outcomes for the service users.

    • All risks are considered and mitigated.

    • Record “What” has to be done, by “Who” and “When by”.

  1. Help guide the manager to achieve better CQC compliance ratings and outcomes.

  2. Assist with respond to CQC and local authority queries, evidencing the steps the Provider is taking to make necessary improvements. Seeking professional legal advice and responses if required via agreed sector specific solicitors.

  3. Formulate any investment plans detailing any cost benefit analysis.

  4. Become the Provider’s liaison within your service should there be a breakdown in such a relationship or to facilitate any necessary changes in the service to ensure its continued viability.

The legal requirement for Providers to ensure good governance is stipulated by the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014: Regulation 17
